π Monday History Spotlight: A Wedding in Hubbard π
Today, we take a step back to 1894 β right here in Hubbard, Texas β where Pearl Taulman became a beautiful bride.
This lovely photograph, taken by her brother Joseph Taulman, captures Pearl in her wedding attire. Pearl was born in 1875 in Texas and spent much of her early life in Hubbard. While we know there was a Christopher family in town at the time, the exact name of her husband remains a bit of a mystery this morning β even after a search through Ancestry records!
β¨ After her marriage, Pearl eventually moved to Fort Worth, where she taught singing and piano lessons β sharing her musical talent with the next generation. She later returned to Hubbard, and when she passed away in 1945 at the age of 70, she was listed as a widow. Her brother Joseph signed her death certificate, and Pearl is now buried right here in Hubbard.
Even in her beautiful wedding portrait, thereβs a hint of mystery about Pearl β a glimpse into a life that perhaps held more stories than we know today.
